A Christian Understanding of Animals

The treatment of animals is increasingly becoming an important question for Christians to address.  On today’s program, Dr. Mohler addresses this important question by exhorting Christians from the Scriptures.  While man alone is made in God’s image, he bears the responsibility to take dominion and exercise proper care of the animal kingdom.

What Do Men Want?

What makes a man a man?  What makes him happy and fulfilled in this life?  Maureen Dowd has written recently on the trends of happiness amongst women, and her story raises interesting questions about what makes men feel happy and fulfilled.  On today’s program, Dr. Mohler notes the importance of putting spiritual priorities first, blessing…

Addressing the Eclipse of Biblical Manhood

If you could give young men one word of encouragement, admonition, or exhortation, what would it be? On today’s program, Dr. Mohler asks this question and offers his own insight on the key marks of manhood.

African-American Men and the Local Church

Walk into the average evangelical church and you’ll notice a higher proportion of women in attendance than men. Studies suggest that the disparity is all the more pronounced in African-American churches. On today’s program, Dr. Mohler welcomes Eric Redmond, pastor and author of Where Are All the Brothers?, to the program.

Gender Roles on the Front Line

The death of Sgt. Sarah Bryant, the first female British soldier to be killed in Afghanistan, has reignited the debate over the role of women in military combat. On today’s program, Dr. Mohler analyzes the worldview issues involved in the discussion.

What Do We Expect From A President?

Just what should we expect from our President? That’s the question American continually must ask themselves every four years. With the emergence of two clear presumptive nominees, we now have to ask it again. On today’s program, Dr. Mohler does just that.

Raising Boys to Be Men

In a culture that struggles to help boys transition into manhood, there are a few places that are doing it well. On today’s program Dr. Mohler broadcasts from Chamberlain-Hunt Academy–a Christian military boarding school in Port Gibson, MS–for a helpful conversation with Col. Shane Blanton about what one institution has been doing for over 100…

Men and Cosmetic Surgery: A Growing Trend

Cultural analysists have been telling us for sometime of the booming business of cosmetic surgery among American women. A recent article at Newsweek’s web site, however, notes the growing popularity of elective cosmetic surgery among a new demographic: men. On today’s program, Dr. Mohler considers the theological and cultural implications of the trend.

Learning from Christopher Hitchens: Lessons Evangelicals Must Not Miss

The death of Christopher Hitchens on December 15 was not unexpected, and that seemed only to add to the tragedy.  His fight against cancer had been lived, like almost every other aspect of his colorful life, in full public view. He had told numerous interviewers that he wanted to die in an active, not a passive sense. Then again, there may never have been a truly passive moment in Christopher Hitchens’ life.

President Obama and Same-Sex Marriage — The Dance Continues

Some predictions are rather safe to make. 2012 is almost certain to be a determinative year on the issue of same-sex marriage. Multiple courts appear poised to strike down the Defense of Marriage Act [DOMA] and, even more urgently, the appeal on California’s Proposition 8 at the Ninth Circuit U. S. Court of Appeals will set up a certain appeal to the U. S. Supreme Court. Given the facts of this case and the significance of the nation’s most populous state, the Supreme Court is almost certain to take the case. This sets the stage for the courts to make some determinative statement on same-sex marriage within the next several months — a decision that will go a long way toward setting the direction of the larger culture.
