Is Your Baby Gay? What If You Could Know? What If You Could Do Something About It?

What if you could know that your unborn baby boy is likely to be sexually attracted to other boys? Beyond that, what if hormonal treatments could change the baby’s orientation to heterosexual? Would you do it? Some scientists believe that such developments are just around the corner.

A Pink Reformation? Sexuality, Credibility, and the Church

Theo Hobson is a very thoughtful commentator on contemporary Christianity. He holds a doctorate from Cambridge University and writes regularly for The Guardian [London]. In his most recent column, “A Pink Reformation,” Hobson argues that controversies over homosexuality now present the Christian church with a credibility crisis of historic proportions. Hobson presents an argument that demands careful attention.

Homosexuality in the Church: Is It Time for a New Reformation?

The ruling from a disciplinary committee of the ELCA to remove openly gay pastor Bradley Schmeling from the clergy roster is no surprise. What is noteworthy, however, is the nearly unanimous recommendation from the committee that the denomination change its position on the issue so that practicing homosexual clergy might be allowed to remain in…

Protecting Our Kids Online

New research suggests that 42 percent of teenagers have seen internet pornography within any given month and often they weren’t even looking for it. On today’s program, Dr. Mohler looks at the report and takes your calls about how families should think through the issue.

Yet Another Minister is “Let Off the Hook” for Blessing Same-Sex Unions

Another mainline Protestant minister has defied church law, blessed a same-sex union, and yet escaped discipline. In this case the denomination is the Presbyterian Church USA and the minister is identified as “a direct descendant of legendary Puritan theologian Jonathan Edwards.”

The Conservative Soul

Andrew Sullivan, author of The Conservative Soul, was my guest on The Albert Mohler Program on Thursday. A full transcript of the Sullivan interview is found below. Andrew Sullivan is a serious man of ideas. I believe that his most important ideas are dead wrong. His proposed definition of conservatism is conveniently tailored to allow for same-sex marriage. His libertarian approach to morals legislation has no outer limit when it comes to sexual activities undertaken by consenting adults. His approach represents a radical moral revolution — a revolution unprecedented in human history. This is not a conservative proposal.

Defining the Issues — A Methodist Witness

Rob Renfroe, a minister at The Woodlands United Methodist Church near Houston, Texas, writes a very interesting article in the current issue of Good News magazine, published by the Good News Movement, a group of evangelical United Methodists. In “An Appeal to Leadership — Listen and Lead,” Renfroe argues that the sexuality issues currently dividing his church point to far deeper differences.
